Elvis Presley Lake Fishing Report - 6/14/2021 2:18:14 PM
Bass fishing has slowed down. A few are hanging around the bream beds, but most have moved off shore. Texas rigs, crankbaits, shakeyheads, and some topwater early and late in the day are all producing fish.

Crappie fishing is very slow. Jigs with chartreuse on them seem to work best for persistent anglers.

Bream are biting well, and both boat and bank anglers are catching fish. Crickets under a cork or tightlined on the bottom work well, as would fly-fishing with poppers or small insect imitations. Beetle spins and red worms should also catch some fish.

The catfish bite is fair. In addition to worms, cutbait fished on the bottom on flats or off of lake points work well for catfish.

Water temp: 84 visibility muddy

Elvis Presley Lake is being drained for renovation.  Fishing will be allowed while the lake drains and the boat ramp will remain open until the water level is deemed unsafe for launching. All daily limits have been lifted and anglers may keep as many fish as they want until the lake closes, but only by rod and reel or pole. No other fishing gear is allowed. A state lake permit and a Mississippi fishing license is required unless exempt under state law.

Bass are post-spawn. Spinnerbaits, square-billed crankbaits, and senkos are good options for any pre-spawn fish.

Crappie fishing has slowed somewhat, however, jigs seem to be working the best, especially if they have any chartreuse on them.

The lake is still high and muddy from all of the recent rains, but the water level is falling. The bass spawn is on, so try Texas rigs around beds and/or shallow cover. Spinnerbaits, square-billed crankbaits, and senkos are good options for any pre-spawn fish.

Crappie have moved up shallow to spawn as well, and any cover in 3 feet of water or less should be fished thoroughly. Jigs seem to be working the best, especially if they have any chartreuse on them.

Bream fishing is starting to pick up, with a few being caught around bass beds and just off of bream beds. Crickets under a cork or tightlined on the bottom work well, as would fly-fishing with poppers or small insect imitations. Beetle spins and red worms will catch some fish as well.

Elvis Presley has a great catfish population. One angler recently caught 4 fish that weighed over 25 pounds while fishing off of the piers. Cut bait or worms fished on the bottom on flats or off of lake points work well for catfish.
