Bass The bass bite for most has been somewhat slow. The bite has been scattered all around the lake at various depths. Locating baitfish is critical. Soft plastics, swimbaits, etc. should be productive.

Crappie No current crappie reports, but a few anglers are having some luck trolling crankbaits in Bear Creek.

Catfish The catfish bite is fair. Cutbait, worms, or kool aid flavored chicken are all good bait choices.

Bass The bass bite is fair to good. Successful anglers are catching 20-25 a day throughout the day. While some fish are hanging out around ledges in deeper water, others are being caught up shallow, in 5-12 feet of water. For those bass still holding to the ledges, anglers are still using a variety of tactics to get their bites. Texas- or Carolina-rigged worms are a good option, as well as topwater lures and other shad imitating baits for schooling bass.

Crappie No recent reports on crappie fishing. Some anglers are targeting suspended fish in Yellow and Bear Creeks by trolling/drifting minnows and jigs in 20-30ft of water.

Catfish The catfish bite is fair. Cutbait, worms, or kool aid flavored chicken are all good bait choices.

Summertime is definitely here and you can tell as the off shore humps and ledges are starting to get hit pretty hard by every bass fisherman hitting the lake. Anglers are using a variety of tactics and lures to trigger bites. Anything from a 10xd crankbait to a drop-shot finesse worm will work. You may have to use a variety of tactics to see what the fish are wanting that particular day as it changes frequently. If you can find the fish, it’s almost a sure bet you can get one or two to bite if not more. Most are targeting water depths of about 15 – 25 ft in depth. Not all ledges and humps are holding fish, so you may have to fish or scan a few with your electronics to finally find a school.

The crappie bite has slowed down. Try fishing in 20-30 feet of water in Bear and Yellow Creek.

The catfish bite has been good. Strawberry flavored chicken, worms, liver, etc. are all good baits to try.
