7/13/2019 Back at Elvis Presley Lake with a fly rod
Okay, it’s real. I like fly fishing. It’s action packed, makes catching even small bream seem like fun, and it’s very new to me still so every time I go out I feel like I learn something or make a different mistake.
That mistake on this trip to Elvis Presley was going after 12 pm when skiing is allowed. Not all folks, but a lot of the ones I encountered at Elvis Presley Lake with ski boats are reckless inconsiderate assholes. Despite the fact that the lake is 300+ acres, I had no less than 10 instances of a ski boat pass by within 20 yards of me full throttle. Bottom line is this, if you ski at Elvis, good for you. But at least give kayaks the same respect you give other boats and try (if possible) to put a little distance between yourselves and others. If you don’t, I will end up shooting your boat with a flare gun for my safety and your knowledge.
Despite my dangerous and negative experiences on the water, I managed to catch 10 bluegill and a longear fishing shoreline structure.
