3/29/2021 Crappie Shore Lunch 9 from the kayak at Toby tUbby

The rain brought the creeks up and the gravel road that I had seen only from the bank brought a bit of camaraderie holy absent waders (usually) but not boaters (not always). I brought the dog in the morning and we caught a mess.

Got Landry home from school and came back in the evening and met Mr. Beau and Jackie. They were cooking and eating fish they caught and offered me a seat at the tailgate of their fine shore lunch.

After we conversed and dined I set off and drifted jigs along the creek and found a few more fish and places to fish.

I caught another 8 or so crappie, mostly shorts. It was relieving to catch fish in similar, but not identical places, as I had in years past. The lake was starting to get crowded and the sun was thinking about setting. By the time I left there were almost 30 trucks. Oh well. I don’t own it and there’s plenty of fish.
