6/5/21 Pulling Crankbaits with Grandpaw and Grandson on Sardis

Reality check: My first successful (if you can call two keepers, which at that point was among my most ever using the technique even practicing) client trip pulling crankbaits was in June of 2021. I only charged these fellas $200, but was impressed with telling them to watch their rods, and then watch them set them, vary distance of line, and catch a few fish. Ultimately, the grandfather pointed to a stick that was floating straight up and down, instead of on its side. He commented that his grandfather used to say when the sticks floated like that, the barometric pressure was too far out of whack, and it was time to head home. This of course came after about an hour without a bite trolling all around timber my future guide and great buddy Shayne McGivney suggested I try to fish. Nonetheless, I was emboldened to continue trying and honing and perfecting this technique that would go on to serve me well as a fishing guide and outfitter.
