8/19/2022 A limit of summer Sardis Slabs for Arkansas Resident Chip

Chip booked a two day, show me yours, show me mine trip (one day on my boat, then guide-for-hire implement on your boat) and for almost a month we’ve gone back and forth on equipment, set ups, presentation. We’ve even had a few FaceTime calls from the Bass Pro Shops aisle to confirm lure selection.

All those chickens came home to roost this morning when he texted me 41 minutes before I told him to arrive that he was at the boat ramp.

Despite a slow start, we were on fish within a couple of hours slowly making our way to a limit of crappie on One of Mississippi’s four primary flood control reservoirs.

After grinding out 60+ fish, we headed to coves to seek shade and Chip impressed me with his angling skills managing to put one on casting swim baits. We headed back to the boat launch after a successful day of pulling crankbaits and agreed to the joyous news of a slightly delayed start for tomorrow.
