11/29/2018 Scouting for Mississippi public land ducks at Upper Sardis on the eve of the second split
Rule number one of duck hunting is hunt where the ducks are. Rule number two is scout to find out where rule number one is referring to.
Dublin and I decided to walk T-7 of Upper Sardis WMA down to the creek to see if any holes had filled up with water to the point where they were a prospect for duck hunting.
On our way in we met Addison and his buddy whose name escapes me but they were nice people. They pointed to my pistol and mentioned that I must know there was hogs down there. I did.
T-7 was wide open in places, and not so much in others.
After crossing dried up holes that at least on google appeared to hold water, we reached the creek.
On our way back, we found a nice spot with potential.
We ended up walking around 5 miles, jumping a couple of pigs and small critters and found some interesting places to hunt.
Route walked is indicated with blue, parking is indicated with green. Starred locations represent the T-7. Refer to Upper Sardis Area map.
