Lake Lamar Bruce - 2/19/2019 3:02:50 PM
Surface water temps are in the high 40’s at the time of this report.
BASS
The bass bite is somewhat tough right now. A few anglers are targeting transitional areas with Alabama-rigs, suspending jerkbaits, and lipless crankbaits. More fish will start moving into those areas as we move closer to spring. Slower techniques like Texas/Carolina-rigs and shakeyheads are good options for those fish that haven’t moved up into transition areas.
BREAM
The bream bite fair. Anglers are catching most of their fish along deeper flats close to drop-offs. The best depths to target lately have been in the 15 – 20 ft. range. Tight lining meal worm or red worms is the most popular technique.
CATFISH
No catfish report as no anglers are targeting them. Try tight lining liver or worms along primary drop-offs and off the earthen piers.
CRAPPIE
The crappie report is fair. A few anglers are catching fish around brush tops and cover in deeper water and along the levee around the drain structure. Both jigs and minnows are catching fish.
