BASS
The bass bite is slow. Try targeting transition areas like points and ditches leading to the pockets as the bass will use them as feeding grounds for their pre-spawn meals. Depths will differ from day to day, but the 10 – 15 feet range would be a place to start looking. This time of year, suspending jerkbaits, Alabama-rigs, and rattletraps are good lures to have tied on. If you are around fish but they aren’t willing to chase a lure, scale down to a finesse presentation like a shakey head.
BREAM
Very little bream activity is occurring right now. Tight lining meal worms or red worms along deeper brush tops and ditches is a good technique for some quality bream.
CRAPPIE
For crappie, target the deeper points particularly those with any cover close by. Both minnows and jigs should get a few bites.
CATFISH
As with most species, the catfish bite is slow. Tight lining liver and/or night crawlers is the best technique. Target some of the deeper laydowns in the tornado damaged coves, the creek channel, and around the piers.
