3/17/2019 Old Lake New Friend

It’s hard to make old friends, but they’re good to have to so I’m always working on it. Thursday evening I met two men, Tyler whose last name I don’t recall and Cody Singthong as they were dragging their flat bottom aluminum boat out of the woods from fishing Drewery. After failing to connect the following morning (they went fishing at Cypress Lake, I went back to Denmark) Cody and I managed to sync up for my first trip to Denmark not alone.

Because a road doesn’t exist (or isn’t maintained) we had to put his boat in where the creek crossed the road and use his trolling motor to get as close to the lake as we could. We hit a beaver dam/den/pond before we got to main lake and had to get out and portage. No problems.

Once on the lake, we fished points and coves in the back of creek channels. Cody ended up with four bass on chatter baits and crawfish, I got three on spinnerbaits. We played hell getting the boat back up the creek and onto the trailer but managed and had a real big time.
