3/5/2021 North Cypress Lake First Bass of 2021/Castaway Rod/Ozark Trail Reel!

Dropped the kids off at West Side BBQ and hauled it back to North Cypress Lake on Upper Sardis WMA in the Holly Springs National Forest outside Oxford, MS. It was chilly and windy but I stuck to the ditches and cuts and got two strikes and landed my first bass of 2021 (on my new Castaway Skeleton Rod) and my first fish with my new $29.99 Ozark Trail 6 ball bearing reel from Wal-Mart. I was encouraged because in general the weather is trending warmer and that means the fishing is only going to get better! (Fish was caught on a texas rigged baby brush hog leftover from last year that had mutated into black/red/white pink.
