3/22/2019 Bass at North Cypress
I took the Intex Explorer Pro 200 inflatable raft out to North Cypress Lake and tried to recreate some of Thursday’s Magic with Tyler and Cody.
I got out on water around 10 and decided to try the black and blue crawfish pattern (the only thing we could get strikes on Thursday and fished levee and fives on either end.
I managed to snag bass number one on an Arkie black black and crawfish jig trailer on a Texas rig.
Black bass number two came on the same setup but closer to the spillway gate.
After tooling around the lake in my Intex Explorer Pro 200 raft, I made one more pass on the levee, this time alternating a single blade H&H Spinnerbait and a Zoom bait lil critter craw pumpkin with chartreuse claws and snagged the final fish of the day.
Sadly, at the conclusion of my trip during the unloading process I put a hole in this my second Intex raft. Unlike the first hole in the first raft, this one was in a location far enough from a seam that I attempted a patch with the Intex provided repair kit. I took the boat back out after that same afternoon and the patch job worked sufficiently that I didn’t sink, even though I failed to boat anymore fish.
On the bright side, this was also the maiden voyage of my 3lb grappling anchor from Wal-Mart and that made a significant difference in my ability get on spots I want to fish without having to constantly reposition.
